Intro-
 Some general BS ending with your thesis [B1] statement that is your self-affirmation.  (5 sent?)

EX:  I am a ___1_________, ________2______, and _______3_____ person who is _______________.

Paragraph 2:  First thesis point with explanation and examples.
Topic sentence:  I am a person who tries.
For Example: When I …… I made to try my hardest.
Opinion:  This means that I care about myself and the work I do.
O:  Also, it shows others that I’m a person who can be counted on.
In Addition:  another example…

Concluding sentence.

Paragraph 3:  Second….

Paragraph 4:  Third

Paragraph 5-  Conclusion-  General restatement of important points. 5 sent.

 [B1]A Thesis statement is a statement of opinion that tells readers what the essay is going to be about.  It announces the topic.


4.  HW-  Complete your first body paragraph and bring it to class.

1.   Are you proud of your essay?  Is it your best work?  Why?  Or, what’s the problem?  Why can’t your work get done?

2.  Groups and editing.

1.  Circle any mistakes you think you see.
2.  Is MLA correct?  Why not?
3.  Does the story make sense?
4.  Is the story on topic?  Victim/Creator?
5.  Are there enough paragraphs?
6.  Are there too many paragraphs?
7.  What would you add to the story?
8.  What would you change?
9.  Offer a compliment.
