April 27, 29:  In class practice test.

May 1:   Actual writeplacer exam.  (Plan on being here for at least 2 hours?)

May 4:  Writeplacer results, portfolio meetings, last day of class.

May 6:  Portfolio meetings.

May 8:  Portfolio meetings.

May 13:  Final portfolio meetings and tying up loose ends.

We'll start working on final projects on Wed, and we'll end the class with one more practice test, our actual test, and then final meetings.

Final Test is Friday, May 1st.

Our last day is Monday, May 4.  We will be meeting on that day and finalizing grades....

Final Essay Practice: 

Two class sessions to plan, draft and complete a typed essay in mla format about the following prompt:

What piece of advice were you given that you’ll always remember and why?

This is graded by a computer:  It looks for a mix of sentences, complicated, longer sentences, multi-syllabic words, paragraphs of length, transition words to show supporting details, number of words, spelling, grammar, no contractions, (isn’t = is not) slang,  intros and conclusions.
