Voice- The speaker’s personality that’s for a specific audience.
Ideas-  The subject of the essay-  what it’s about or the message
Conventions- Grammar.
Organization-  The shape, the plan, the paragraph order.
Sentence Fluency-  The flow of sentences, the rhythm.
Word Choice-  The vocab the writer uses.







Writing Process

Inventing-  Make up ideas.
Organize-  Plan your ideas.
Draft-  Fast version of your essay.  Just get done. 
Revise:  Re look-  Sentences, Org, Voice, Words, Ideas,
Edit-    Fix the grammar and punctuation.
Publish-  Means it’s perfect.
 


Topic:  What your paper is about.

Audience: Who your paper is for

Purpose:  Why you're writing it.

Narrative Essay:  A story about yourself written in first person (I).




Most Common Grammar Errors

Fragment:  I went to the park to get.

Run On:    I went to the park to get my dog he was there.

Comma Splice: I went to the park to get my dog, he was there.

Tense Shift:  I went to the park to get my dog.  He is there.


Parallelism:

I   I like to jog, walk and sprinting.

Verb Tense Agreement:   I likes to jog.

 
Pronoun Antecedent Agreement:

JHe is my friend that (who) I jog with.
